We find it great privilege to submit the annual report of the Sri Lanka Unites club of St. John’s College, Jaffna for the year of 2011. It was during the course of this year that the SLU club was firmly installed in the school and functioned actively with the support and guidance of our school principal. Our club, as on 1st of August 2011 consists of 97 members from Grade 10 to Advanced Level.

Mission
To a symbol for and an example of powerful potential of united Sri Lankans to work towards sustainable development, peace and prosperity.
Our association, not through started earlier, was installed in our school on 17th of September 2010. This was followed by the annual meeting in which we discussed our plans and other activities to be done in the previous calendar year.

Meeting in Mannar
This was a quick meeting with St. Xavier’s  Girls School, Mannar on the 1st of November 2010 under the guidance of our vice patron regarding the project plans and fund raising programmes.
Meetings and Discussions
Club meetings for the committee members are held regularly on Thursdays and special meetings were also conducted with permissions from the principal.

Free Medical Camp
A free medical camp was conducted by St. John’s College of Jaffna on 14th of June 2011 at Punkudutivu Maha Vidyalaya with the sponsorship of “Al-Mayuda Foundation”
·         Target: To treat about 500 patients
·         Treated patients:  430 patients
This was a marvelous project that the club has furnished with the support of our school.

Fellowship Programme (Nuffield School, Kaithady)
Sri Lanka Unites club of St. John’s College conducted a reconciliation programme for the differently able students at Kaithady Nuffield School on the 14th of June 2011.

Leadership Campaign – 2011
Sri Lanka Unites club of St. John’s College, Jaffna organized a campaign among the SLU clubs of the neighbouring schools on 15th of June 2011.
Target: Enhancing the leadership qualities of the future leaders and promoting the “feel for a better nation”.

Sri Lanka Unites Future Leaders’ Conference – 3
5 of our members participated in the Future Leaders’ Conference Season 3 which was held in Trinity College, Kandy.
